Melanie has been part of The Contemporary Chorale since 2011. For her, joining was all about getting back to what she loves most—being part of a choir. She’s been singing since age five and has led and performed in church productions, worship teams, and currently serves as the worship leader for the Seniors Bible class at her church.
A Heart for Music
From a lifetime of church music to her years with the Chorale, Melanie has always found joy in using her voice to connect with others. One of her favorite parts of singing is sharing that happiness and energy with audiences.
Fun Facts About Melanie
She almost drowned while tubing at a park in New Braunfels during high school.
Her favorite movie is The Preacher’s Wife.
She’s a big fan of The Golden Girls!
Beyond the Music
When she’s not singing, Melanie enjoys reading, watching old TV shows, going to the movies, and shopping. She also dreams of one day visiting America’s landmarks—something at the top of her bucket list.
Just for Fun
If Melanie could perform with anyone, she’d choose the legendary Whitney Houston or Karen Carpenter.
Melanie’s advice to new members: “Stick with it when you want to give up. It’s worth it at the performances—feeling happiness and exhilaration giving the gift of music to others and seeing their smiles and support. Have fun and make friends who will become a second family.”
